Covering different outcome scenarios from your final rounds of auditions and the all-consuming "what next!?"
From discussing different offer and/or reactions scenarios, to reserve lists, foundation courses, and having the courage to do it all over again for another year if you need to, this section aims to support you, and hopefully you come away feeling much more in control of your future regardless of how your audition season went.
There's always more than one way!
So, as you may be aware, there are other alternatives to a degree/diploma life. New places of training pop up all the time, and whilst I appreciate that not everyone wants to take a gamble on a new place with no notable alumni and not much of a reputation, I have compiled a few places that I truly feel provide brilliant training - it's just in a different style. And furthermore, these places are proven to be reputable.
Some of them you may have heard of and even looked into already. But this page is for any of you who have either not had the outcomes you wanted from multiple years of auditioning, have realised that financially a degree or diploma just won't be feasible, or are just starting to have doubts about the kind of training your classic drama schools offer.
You may find some are more pure acting-based, but pair this with your own singing and dance classes and you've created your own training schedule!
NOTE: If you would still like to train at one of the 'typical' schools but the main issue was their length degrees & dips, many of them will have their own shorter courses too, whilst a couple are linked below go and have a look yourself for some others not listed!
Click on 'Browse' and the first thing to appear is 'Acting and Performing Arts'
RADA - Short Courses - Musical Theatre
The ICMT - 3 month top up musical theatre course
This last one is perhaps more of a pre-training route for some of you, but it is a good way to get 5 classes in a week whilst having to study, work and audition
Spotlight - What to do after drama school rejection
UCAS - Replying to conservatoire offers
UCAS - Replying to undergraduate offers
Spotlight - Part-time acting courses
Young Actors - Foundation Course - An incredibly fair priced option
School of Theatre Excellence - Though the price for this foundation is higher, this course is validated by Rose Bruford College meaning it is eligible for student loans
Useful as multiple UK cities are shown and even if the school isnβt under their search bar, a partnering University should be. Seems that rooms listed are part of accommodation buildings as opposed to private houses and flats.
